The Specialised Training Cell at NACIN Palasamudram is conducting an intensive 5-day training on Cyber Forensic and Intelligence Generation Tools for 27 participants from various DGGI units . Inaugurated by Pr. ADG Peri Uma Shankar on 25.11.2024, the training leverages NACIN’s state-of-the-art Cyber Forensic Training Facility. Participants will engage in sessions on Cyber Forensic tools, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Cryptocurrency Transaction Analysis, CDR/IPDR tools, and Darknet transaction analysis.

NACIN, Palasamudram is excited to kick off the Train-The-Trainer Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) workshop from 25th to 28th November 2024. On pre-program day, 24th November evening a lecture cum live Bharatnatyam performance was organised in the gracious presence of Shri Surjit Bhujabal, Member (Customs) and Shri Gaigongdin Panmei, Pr. DG, NACIN and representatives from US department of State and officials of WCO.

This workshop, under the WCO INAMA India & South Asia Project Capacity Building Initiative, brings together dedicated officers from Sri Lanka, Nepal and India.

NACIN PALASAMUDRAM in collaboration with National e-governance Division (NeGD) and their training partner IIM, Visakhapatnam is organising a 5-day training program on IT Project Management & e-governance for Gr-A officers of DG Systems & DGARM. The inauguration event was graced by Shri Peri UmaSankar, Pr. Additional Director General and Shri Amitesh Bharat Singh, ADG (Customs Integrated Systems), DG Systems in the presence of Ms Sudha Koka, Additional Director General. Prof. Srinivas Josyula, IIM Visakhapatnam is the Program Director. The course is from 18th - 22nd November, 2024 with active participation of 24 officers.

Specialized Training Cell, NACIN Palasamudram, in collaboration with NACIN, Patna, is organizing a 3-day workshop, Customs on the Frontline-Combating Illicit Wildlife Trade and Legal Frameworks, from Nov 18-20, 2024, in Patna. The workshop was inaugurated by Ms.Meena Madhusudan, AD, NACIN, PSM and Sh. Basant Kumar Mishra, AD, NACIN, Patna and features 26 enthusiastic participants from Customs and GST, including officers from land customs stations like Raxaul, Jogbani, Sonwarsa, Bhitamore, Galgalia, and Laukaha. Key highlights include training on cyber forensic tools to tackle wildlife trafficking and hands-on practical sessions on real-world crime scene investigation. The workshop started with session on Wildlife Crime Investigation by Sh. A Roy Chowdhury, AD, WCCD and Shri Rajnish Kumar, WLI, WCCB, Sh.Mansoor Chetlu – Wild Life Expert introduced the participants to Basic Species in Illegal Trade and Visual Identification Techniques and Tools.

NACIN Palasamudram conducted a two day investigation workshop (7th and 8th November) for Group A officers investigation of DGGI and CGST zones , at NACIN Palasamudram campus. The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. Gaigongdin Panmei, Pr. DG NACIN and Ms Sudha Koka, ADG NACIN.8 highly engaging sessions on wide range of topics beneficial to the intelligence and investigation wings of CBIC were conducted which included the recent changes in the new criminal laws, emerging trends on fake invoices and its interplay with money laundering, usage of Analytical tools such as BIFA and BO for intelligence and investigation, emerging trends in Customs investigation and evasion in OIDAR services. The sessions were highly interactive and focused on resolving the issues that the investigation and intelligence wings face in the field and many case studies of unique modus operandi of evasion were discussed. The workshop concluded with Ms Sudha Koka, ADG NACIN sharing her insightful and motivational thoughts with the participating officers.

06th November, 2024

NACIN Palasamudram in collaboration with CCO Thiruvananthapuram CGST Zone conducted a two day workshop (5th and 6th November) on Adjudication for Central GST and State GST officers of Kerala in Central Revenue Building, Kochi. Ms. Minu Pramod, ADG NACIN Kochi and Sh. Giridhar Gopalkrishan Pai, ADG DGGI Kochi ZU were the Guests of Honour for the inauguration.

Ms. Sudha Koka, ADG NACIN Palasamudram, Sh. Saroj Behera, Commr (Appeals) Kochi and Sh. Deepak Mata, DC, CCO Mumbai were the faculties for the workshop. 28 officers from State GST and 27 officers from Central GST were trained in this workshop. 8 engaging sessions, coupled with discerning discussions and collaborative technique of learning made the workshop an overwhelming success. These sessions helped enhance skills in handling disputes, ensuring better compliance and strengthening the overall GST framework for the participants.

The workshop concluded with the Chief Guest of Valediction Ceremony, Sh. Manoj Kumar Arora, Chief Commissioner, CGST Thiruvanthapuram Zone sharing his insightful and motivational thoughts with the participating officers.


05th November, 2024

A 5-day Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) case development programme under the WCO INAMA India and South Asia Project was inaugurated on 4th November 2024 by the Pr. DG, NACIN at NACIN, Palasamudram.

16 officers from various formations of Customs, WCCB, DAHD and RPQS are participating in the Workshop.

During the inauguration, Pr. DG, NACIN emphasized the importance of the CITES Convention, recent amendments to the Wildlife Protection Act 1962, and the urgent need to combat Illegal Wildlife Trade to protect flora and fauna. He encouraged participants to share the knowledge gained with their colleagues.


04th November, 2024

Specialized Training Cell, NACIN Palasamuduram is conducting a Fortnight long training on Cyber Forensic and Intelligence Generation Tools, from 04th -14th November, 2024 which was inaugurated by Pr. ADG Shri Peri Umasanker. Participants from DRI will be exposed to Legal Framework Governing the Collection of Digital Evidence, and introduced to the world of forensics, Computer Forensics, Mobile Forensics and its Investigative Applications apart from hands on sessions on Video, Audio forensics and NACIN Cyber Forensics Lab Equipment. The participants will also be introduced to Dark Net Investigations, Computer Forensics, Mobile Forensics, OSINT Tools, Cryptocurrency and Open-Source Tools for Analysis and CDR and IPDR Analysis for investigative applications and intelligence gathering.


The Cohort-V (Induction) Training Programme for Group A, IRS (C&IT) Promoted officers being Conducted by the Specialized Training Cell was inaugurated at NACIN Palasamudram on 04.11.2024 by Dr. Ezhilmathi K, ADG. 44 officers are attending the 26-days Induction Training Programme from 04.11.2024 to 29.11.2024.
